Amazon.com Product Description
Offering the latest club technologies at the right price, this Wilson ProStaff right-handed men's golf set includes everything you need to hit the links with confidence. The set starts with a titanium-forged driver with a high-moment-of-inertia 460cc head, giving you plenty of power when attempting to drive the green or carry the water. The 3 and 5 fairway woods, meanwhile, also offer a high moment of inertia to go with graphite shafts, as do the 3 and 4 hybrids. As a result, you can handle almost any fairway shots you come across, with the hybrids handling the load traditionally reserved for harder-to-hit long irons. Perhaps the most noteworthy clubs, however, are the short irons (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and PW), which incorporate Wilson's popular FatShaft technology and stainless-steel heads. Designed with the average player in mind, FatShaft clubs offer less torque than other clubs, resulting in more club head stability and greater accuracy. As a result, your approach shots will be far more likely to hit the center of the green rather than the heart of the sandtrap to the right. The set concludes with a milled-face putter with an anodized face insert, a high-end stand bag with numerous pockets, and five matching headcovers for the woods and hybrids.

4 out of 5 stars Great set of clubs, not so great woods   August 17, 2008

I purchased this set of clubs to replace some very old hand-me-downs that I started golfing with last summer. They were the right price, and I liked the way they felt when I tested them out at a golf outlet.

Now that I've had them for almost a year, I have a few observations. The irons are solid. My friend has a set of Adams that he paid three times as much for, and I hit the ball the same with those more expensive clubs as I do with the Wilsons. I get good loft out of the 7-9 irons, and great distance with the 5 wood. I dislike the hybrids a lot. I wish they had just given a standard 3-4 iron.

The 3 and 5 wood are very poor quality. I broke the 3-wood after a few months, and the five wood a couple months later. They sheared off near the club. I am not the best golfer, and sometimes hit the ground before the ball, but I have to think them breaking was more than me giving them excessive wear-and-tear.

I replaced the 3 and 5 wood with a couple Taylors, and they are much better, and I hit the ball further with them, although that could be in part to gaining skill as I've golfed more recently.

If you want an inexpensive set of clubs to learn the game with, these are pretty good, except for the 3 and 5 woods. The irons are great, and in opinion, as good as more expensive clubs.
